Category Schools - OT - Telehealth Job Type Contract Position: Remote School-Based Occupational Therapist (OT) Location: Fully remote Type: Part time 1099 Contract Position Overview We are seeking a compassionate, licensed Occupational Therapist to join our virtual school?based team in Michigan. You will deliver engaging, evidence-based teletherapy services to K-12 students, collaborating with school staff, parents, and educators to foster student success in academic and daily living skills under IDEA and Section?504 frameworks. Key Responsibilities Conduct virtual evaluations and assessments (e.g. fine motor, sensory processing, handwriting, self?care readiness) using standardized tools adapted to online formats Develop individualized intervention plans and SMART IEP goals aligned to student needs Provide live teletherapy sessions including guided exercises, sensory strategies, adaptive techniques, and consultative support Train and support parents, teachers, paraprofessionals in implementing therapy strategies throughout the school day Monitor student progress; modify therapy plans as needed and participate in IEP meetings as required Maintain comprehensive documentation and reporting , including session notes, evaluation reports, telehealth consent, attendance tracking, and IEP updates Collaborate virtually with multidisciplinary teams (speech?language pathologists, school psychologists, educators) to ensure integrated care and compliance Required Qualifications Active Michigan OT licensure and NBCOT (OTR) credential must be licensed in MI and service only Michigan?based students Master's or Doctorate in Occupational Therapy from an ACOTE?accredited program (required by Michigan standards) School?based or pediatric OT experience , ideally 1+ year (2+ years preferred) Teletherapy experience or strong technical capability with virtual conferencing platforms (Zoom, Microsoft Teams) and remote documentation systems Strong verbal and written communication , especially for training stakeholders remotely and collaborating with staff Ability to work independently , manage schedules and caseloads, and troubleshoot basic tech issues Preferred Qualifications Advanced knowledge in sensory integration, handwriting programs , ADL/self?care, AAC strategies, or assistive technology Familiarity with learning management systems (Google Classroom, Seesaw, etc.) Understanding of Michigan special education law (IDEA, Section 504), IEP compliance standards, and state?specific documentation requirements Equal Opportunity Employer Minorities/Women/Veterans/Disabled
