Title: Speech-Language PathologistQualifications: Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology/Communications Disorders from an accredited college or universityAcquisition and maintenance of appropriate professional certifications and/or licensures including state licensure through NH Board of Allied Health Professionals. Ability and willingness to obtain Certification through the American Speech-Language and Hearing Association.1-4 years experience in servicing, screening and evaluating students for speech-language, hearing and communication impairments (with the exception of CFY candidates) using multiple assessment instruments and strategiesExhibits a knowledge of clinical theory and its application as it relates to students educational needs Demonstrated ability to collaborate and participate as a member on an interdisciplinary teamDemonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective relationships and communicate effectively with parents and studentsDemonstrated organizational skills as it pertains to all aspects of the job responsibilities (e.g., scheduling services, time management, etc.)Demonstrated ability to adhere and maintain confidentiality Willingness to travel to multiple work locations as assignedReports To: Director of Student Support Services or designeeSupervises: May supervise Speech-Language Therapy Assistants, Speech-Language Specialists, and/or Clinical FellowsJob Goal: The Speech-Language Pathologist screens, assesses, provides treatment for and consultswith parents, teachers and professional staff on speech, language, hearing and communication impairments or related conditions and disorders. His/her primary role is to provide these services for students who have been identified with communication impairments impacting upon their ability to access the general education curriculum and effectively communicate with teachers and peers. Secondary role(s) may also apply at the request and discretion of administration such as the provision of at-risk services, the instruction and supervision of clinical students (CFY candidates and/or graduate interns), or staff development presentations. Performance Responsibilities:Screen and/or evaluate for speech, language, hearing, communication and related disordersReview and discuss developmental, medical and academic case histories with a multidisciplinary team to determine individual student evaluation needs and strategiesWrite comprehensive evaluation and/or summary of such evaluations to include findings and recommendations for parents and teachersUsing knowledge of school curriculum, grade level expectations and spans, curriculum standards and competencies, write and participate in the development of individual educational programs and placement in the least restrictive environmentAs it relates it relates to your area of expertise, provide accommodations and modifications necessary to maximize a students independence and successful access to the regular education curriculumContribute to the selection, design, construction and/or ordering of necessary adaptive equipmentDevelop appropriate treatment goals and activities related to the specific needs of students, and to identify equipment or materials to be used in treatmentProvide ongoing support for students and suggestions for teachers, including consultative and direct therapy services (individual and group) in the least restrictive environmentProvide training and/or technical assistance to staff, families and others involved in the communication needs of studentsParticipate in the transition of students to ongoing buildings, services and programsAssist with the training of staff and consultants relative to students communication needsCollaborate with outside individuals and agencies in order to provide timely and seamless services to eligible students and familiesParticipate in program consultations, evaluations and monitoring, including the development of procedures and forms as requestedCase manage students designated to them by supervisor (refer to Case Manager job description)Participate in Medicaid School Program, including weekly consultation with rehabilitative assistants and completing all necessary paperworkMaintain oral and written communication with educational personnel, parents, and community agencies regarding assigned schools and students. This may include, but is not limited to telephone calls, updated IEP reports, informal notes, and programs to be carried out by the Rehabilitative Assistants and ParaprofessionalAttend scheduled meetings for staff development and trainingTravel to assigned school(s) Maintain NH SLP licensure and ASHA certificationOther duties as may be assigned by the Assistant Superintendent or designee, based upon the needs of the districtWorking Environment:The physical demands include: occasional lifting (20 pounds maximum), carrying, pushing and/or pulling; some climbing; some stooping, kneeling, crouching and/or crawling; and significant reaching, handling, speaking, writing, hearing, and fine finger dexterity; frequent standing, walking, and sitting, and lifting up to 20 pounds.Evaluation: Annual evaluation to be completed by supervisor

Job Requirements
Speech-Language Pathologist, ASHA certified and with NH SLP license or eligible to obtain NH license. Part time position, 2 days a week up to 7 hours a day to provide services to students as outlined in IEP's, conduct required evaluations and participate on IEP teams. Position has a multitude of resources and assessments available. Hourly rate established based on years of experience.
