- Deliver individualized speech therapy interventions focused on enhancing communication, language fluency, voice modulation, and swallowing abilities.
- Engage in collaborative efforts with physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, doctors, caregivers, and families to design comprehensive care strategies.
- Provide education to patients and families to encourage progress outside of therapeutic settings.
- Occasionally conduct inpatient speech therapy evaluations and interventions to ensure a seamless treatment process.
- Maintain precise and timely documentation in line with state, federal, and organizational standards.
- Continuously expand knowledge and skills through professional development opportunities and collaboration with peers.
Education
- Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
- Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if not yet ASHA-certified.
Certifications
- Active state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist .
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA is preferred.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be obtained within 30 days of hire.
