Position Summary: UC Davis Health Rehabilitation Hospital is seeking a skilled and compassionate Physical Therapist Assistant for a travel assignment. The PTA will work under the supervision of licensed Physical Therapists to implement treatment plans aimed at improving patient mobility, strength, and overall physical function in an acute rehab setting.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in executing individualized physical therapy programs for patients recovering from surgery, injury, or medical conditions
• Instruct and guide patients through exercises, gait training, and mobility techniques
• Monitor patient responses and progress, reporting changes to supervising Physical Therapist
• Document treatment sessions and outcomes accurately in the medical record system
• Maintain equipment and treatment areas in compliance with facility safety standards
• Support patient education related to home exercise programs and injury prevention
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care and discharge planning

Qualifications:

• Associate degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program
• Current California PTA license or eligibility
• BLS certification required
• Minimum of 2 years of experience, preferably in inpatient rehabilitation or hospital setting
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to adapt therapy approaches to diverse patient populations
