Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Assist licensed therapists during patient care activities including transfers, gait training, wheelchair mobility, and balance exercises.
Fit and adjust assistive devices (e.g., walkers, canes, crutches) under the direction of a therapist.
Demonstrate proper and safe use of hydraulic lifts, bicycles, parallel bars, and exercise equipment.
Execute one, two, and three-person patient transfers using safe techniques.
Monitor and record vital signs (blood pressure, pulse, respirations) accurately and in a timely manner.
Perform clerical functions such as data entry, filing, copying, and entering therapy charges.
Participate in peer review processes and provide feedback during evaluations.
Clean and maintain treatment booths, therapy gym, and department offices regularly.
Dispose of trash and laundry appropriately and maintain clean linen supplies.
Sanitize equipment and machines including hydrocollators using approved solutions and protective equipment.
Refill lotion and gel bottles, and ensure adequate inventory of therapy supplies.
Demonstrate appropriate use of Activities of Daily Living (ADL) equipment.
Operate all Therapy Services equipment safely and effectively.
Understand and apply basic exercise principles under therapist supervision, and report any patient distress or warning signs.
Qualifications
Required: Current BLS Certification
Required: Must be able to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
