Description

  • Conduct comprehensive evaluations for patients across pediatric, adult, and geriatric demographics utilizing both standardized assessments and observational methods.
  • Craft tailored treatment plans focusing on both immediate aims and long-term communication, cognitive, and swallowing objectives.
  • Deliver personalized speech therapy sessions targeting various aspects such as language, fluency, voice, and swallowing.
  • Engage in collaborative efforts with physical and occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, caregivers, and families to develop cohesive treatment strategies.
  • Provide education to patients and families to foster progress outside of clinical settings.
  • Occasionally assist with inpatient speech therapy evaluations and interventions, ensuring a seamless care continuum throughout the treatment process.
  • Maintain thorough and timely documentation that complies with state, federal, and institutional guidelines.
  • Stay informed about developments in the field through continuing education and collaboration with peers.

Education

  • Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
  • Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if ASHA certification is pending.

Certifications

  • Active state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist .
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA is preferred.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment.
