Description

  • Conduct thorough evaluations using both standardized assessments and observational methods across various age groups.
  • Create individualized treatment plans that target immediate and ongoing communication, cognitive, or swallowing challenges.
  • Deliver personalized one-on-one speech therapy focused on language, fluency, voice modulation, and swallowing techniques.
  • Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team that may include physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, doctors, caregivers, and family members to form integrated care pathways.
  • Educate patients and their families to foster progress in therapy goals outside of clinical interactions.
  • Participate in occasional inpatient speech therapy assessments and interventions, ensuring continuity and quality of care throughout the patient journey.
  • Keep precise and up-to-date documentation in accordance with state, federal, and organizational regulations.
  • Embrace continual learning and professional advancement through education and peer interactions.

Education

  • A Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
  • Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) for candidates not yet ASHA-certified.

Certifications

  • Valid state license as a Speech Language Pathologist .
  • Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) issued by ASHA.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification to be acquired within 30 days of employment.
