Description

  • Assess patients across various age groups using a combination of standardized and observational assessment methods.
  • Create tailored treatment strategies that align with both immediate and long-term communication, cognitive, or swallowing needs.
  • Deliver individualized speech therapy sessions focusing on aspects such as language, fluency, voice, and swallowing.
  • Engage collaboratively with a multi-disciplinary team, including physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, doctors, caregivers, and families to formulate cohesive care plans.
  • Educate patients and their families to ensure continued progress during and after therapy sessions.
  • Perform occasional inpatient evaluations and interventions to guarantee seamless care throughout the treatment process.
  • Maintain meticulous, timely documentation in accordance with state, federal, and organizational regulations.
  • Stay abreast of new developments in speech-language pathology through ongoing education and peer networking.

Education

  • Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
  • Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) is required if not yet ASHA-certified.

Certifications

  • Valid state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist .
  • Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
  • Required: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of employment.
