Description

  • Conduct thorough evaluations on clients from pediatric to geriatric demographics utilizing both standardized assessments and observational strategies.
  • Craft individualized treatment plans that target immediate and long-term communication, cognitive, or swallowing objectives.
  • Deliver personalized speech therapy sessions focusing on communication, language acquisition, fluency, voice modulation, and swallowing challenges.
  • Collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team including physical and occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, family members, and caregivers to develop integrated care plans.
  • Provide education and resources to patients and their families to encourage progress beyond the therapy sessions.
  • Assist with infrequent inpatient evaluations and interventions, ensuring that continuity of care is maintained across the treatment spectrum.
  • Keep meticulous and timely records in accordance with regulatory and organizational standards.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development to stay updated with the latest advancements in speech-language pathology.

Education

  • Hold a Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
  • Complete a Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if not yet certified by ASHA.

Certifications

  • Hold state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist .
  • Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
  • Obtain Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within the first month of employment.
