Responsibilities
Job Summary
Provide speech therapy services to infants' toddlers, preschool and school age children for a minimum of 50 weekly sessions or as directed by program needs to meet health and safety requirements of in - person and/ or telehealth services; and conduct speech therapy assessments and evaluations
Position Functions and Responsibilities
Provide mandated services to assigned children on caseload in compliance with IFSP/IEP documents
Participate in meetings and consultations with education staff and the multidisciplinary team concerning the needs of each child as related to his/her mandated services and progress updates
Work effectively with parents, teaching staff and other professionals directly involved in the care and treatment of the child to develop and monitor IEP services
Use accurate assessment skills to perform functional evaluations with reports reflecting current knowledge and evidence based practices and communicate results effectively in both written and verbal formats
Maintain accurate record keeping and IEP/IFSP goal tracking documentation as required by SED/EI and ESCS policies for quality assurance and accountability purposes
Design and monitor assistive technology, adaptive equipment and augmentative communication needs in collaboration with team and family members
Implement and monitor feeding programs for children on assigned case load in accordance with Coleman policies and ASHA guidelines for school therapists
Serves as clinical instructor as needed for SLP students
Actively participate in the creation and implementation of an individual and School wide Professional Development Plan that inspires personal growth and informs clinical practices
Carry out standards for customer service; quality improvement; professional development; environmental, safety and infection control practices; confidentiality, corporate compliance and all other John A. Coleman policies and procedures; attend all mandatory in-services to ensure regulatory compliance and best practices in working with students and their families and procedures
Perform other tasks to support the operations of the school as assigned by School Administration
Qualifications
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Master's Degree in Speech Language Pathology
New York State Speech Language Pathology License Required
NYS Teacher of Speech Hearing Certification
NPI# Required
Experience
Minimum of 1 year pediatric SLP experience
Employee Requirements:
Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language fluently.
Must meet or exceed all health standards and requirements for the position as established by NYDOH and all other regulatory agencies.
Must meet the general health requirements set forth by the policies of this Center which includes a medical and physical examination.
Must be able to push, pull, move, and/or lift a minimum of thirty-five (35) pounds.
Perform tasks that may involve exposure to blood/body fluids.
Must be able to assist in the evacuation of residents, if necessary.
Working Conditions:
Will work in a well-lighted and ventilated area.
Will be subject to frequent interruptions.
May be asked to work beyond normal working hours, and in other positions temporarily, when necessary.
Salary Range:
$75,236.22/Yr. To $85,586.22/Yr.
