Part Time Speech/Language Pathologist - John H Castle Elementary

DUTIES:

  • Provide direct and/or consult services to students with speech and/or language impairments
  • Conduct speech and language evaluations within mandated timelines and in accordance with state law and corporation procedures
  • Develop and implement Individual Education Plans (IEP’s)
  • Collect Data on student progress toward goals/objectives
  • Conduct, attend, provide needed documentation, and participate in ACR committee meetings for students needing speech therapy services.
  • Interpret and explain test results to ACR/IEP teams.
  • Develop therapy plans for students based on their IEPs.
  • Provide Quarterly progress reports on students on the caseload
  • Conduct or coordinate hearing screenings
  • Consult with school staff and administrators regarding individual student needs
  • Maintain all required documentation (daily attendance, progress reports to parents, completion of evaluation reports, completion of IEP paperwork, communication with other professionals/parents/community resources as appropriate, etc).
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Basic computer/technology skills (email, electronic calendars, keyboarding, ability to learn software applications, etc)
  • Ability to concentrate on detailed work
  • Ability to communicate and interface effectively with a wide variety of district personnel
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree and Indiana License from the Division of Professional Standards in Communication Disorders
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence
  • Willingness to supervise SLPA, if needed

Employment terms:

Salary will be pro-rated based on number of days/hours working.
