Job Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough evaluations of pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients utilizing standardized assessments along with observational techniques.
- Create and implement tailored treatment strategies to address both immediate and long-term communication, cognitive, or swallowing objectives.
- Deliver individualized speech therapy sessions that focus on various aspects including communication, language, fluency, voice, and swallowing.
- Work in partnership with physical therapists, occupational therapists, nursing staff, physicians, caregivers, and families to develop integrated care plans.
- Provide education to patients and their families to promote progress between therapy sessions.
- Occasionally perform inpatient evaluations and interventions to maintain seamless care continuity throughout the treatment continuum.
- Ensure accurate and timely documentation in compliance with state, federal, and organizational policies.
- Engage in ongoing professional development through continuing education and collaborative efforts with peers.
Qualifications
- A Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from a recognized institution.
- Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if not currently ASHA-certified.
Certifications Required
- State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist .
- ASHA's Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) is considered an asset.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days of hire.
