Occupational Therapist

Eastern Greene Schools is seeking a licensed and dedicated Occupational Therapist to support eligible students ages 3-21 in improving their ability to function and participate successfully in an educational setting. This part-time position (approximately 14 hours per week) supports students with sensory, motor, postural, and emotional needs through targeted interventions and collaborative planning with school teams.

The therapist will work one to two days per week under the supervision of the Special Education Director and will serve students across Eastern Greene Schools as outlined in their IEPs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited institution
• Current Indiana occupational therapy license
• Experience with pediatric populations, preferably in a school setting
• Knowledge of Indiana special education regulations
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with teachers, parents, and related service providers
• Must have reliable transportation to travel between school buildings

• Improve, restore, or maintain functional abilities in the areas of fine/gross motor development, self-help skills, and adaptive behavior
• Support students in achieving their IEP goals within the least restrictive environment
• Collaborate with staff to integrate therapy interventions into the classroom setting
• Help students increase independence in school-related tasks and routines

Expectations

• Conduct assessments and develop individualized treatment plans for eligible students
• Provide direct and/or consultative services per IEP requirements
• Assist in the development and review of IEPs and participate in case conference meetings
• Maintain accurate records and submit comprehensive progress reports
• Implement techniques and strategies to address sensory-motor integration and postural control
• Follow ethical and legal standards related to occupational therapy and student confidentiality
• Travel to various buildings as needed and perform additional duties assigned by the Special Education Director
