Description
- Assess patients of all ages by using standardized assessments and observational techniques to gather comprehensive data.
- Create tailored treatment plans addressing both immediate goals and ongoing communication, cognitive, or swallowing needs.
- Deliver one-on-one speech therapy sessions emphasizing communication, language, fluency, voice, and swallowing proficiency.
- Work alongside physical and occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, caregivers, and families to ensure a cohesive approach to patient care.
- Provide education to patients and families, empowering them to support progress outside of therapy sessions.
- Conduct occasional inpatient evaluations and treatments, guaranteeing seamless continuity of care throughout the patient journey.
- Keep meticulous records that comply with state, federal, and organizational standards.
- Engage in ongoing professional development through continuing education and collaboration with peers.
Education
- A Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology from a recognized accredited institution.
- Completion of a Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if ASHA certification is pending.
Certifications
- State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist .
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA is preferred.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required within 30 days of hire.
