Description
- Conduct comprehensive evaluations for patients of varying ages using standardized assessments and observational strategies.
- Create tailored treatment plans focused on both immediate and long-standing communication or swallowing needs.
- Deliver individualized speech therapy interventions emphasizing communication skills, language fluency, vocal strength, and swallowing techniques.
- Partner with a collaborative team that includes physical and occupational therapists, nurses, doctors, caregivers, and family members to design effective care plans.
- Provide education to patients and their families to facilitate progress beyond the clinic.
- Participate in occasional inpatient speech therapy assessments and treatments to ensure seamless patient care.
- Maintain high-quality documentation in compliance with state, federal, and organizational standards.
- Engage in lifetime learning through professional development and peer meetings to stay at the forefront of the field.
Education
- A Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
- Successful completion of a Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if ASHA certification is pending.
Certifications
- Valid state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist .
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA is preferred.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be obtained within 30 days of hire.
