Job Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and assess patients from pediatric to geriatric populations through standardized tests and observational methods.
  • Create customized treatment plans that cater to both immediate objectives and more extensive communication, cognitive, or swallowing requirements.
  • Conduct one-on-one speech therapy focusing on language, fluency, voice, and swallowing strategies.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, families, and caregivers to develop cohesive care plans.
  • Educate patients and families to facilitate progress beyond clinical settings.
  • Participate in providing occasional inpatient speech therapy evaluations and interventions to ensure a seamless treatment path.
  • Document patient progress accurately and in a timely manner, adhering to all regulatory and organizational guidelines.
  • Stay abreast of innovations in the field through ongoing training and collaboration with peers.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
  • Completion of a Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if not ASHA-certified.

Certifications Required

  • State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist .
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA is preferred.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days of employment.
