Qualifications:
- Full approval/licensure from Michigan's Department of Licensing And Regulatory Affairs (LARA)
- Significant experience and/or coursework in related fields
- Related academic endorsements preferred
- Ability to evaluate students and prepare appropriate therapy plans
- Provide staff and community resource specific to certification(s)
- Provide therapy as determined by IEP, therapy plan, or behavior intervention plan
- Assist in conducting Functional Behavior Assessments and developing/implementing Behavior Intervention Plans
- Determine appropriate treatment plans through documented evaluations and consultations
- Provide training on use of necessary occupational therapy equipment and strategies as deemed appropriate
- Carefully document all services provided in an effective and clear manner
- Collaborate with classroom teachers to plan and implement classroom based activities and sensory strategies/interventions
- Meet the needs of all students effectively by working in partnership with other disciplines
- Comply with policies established by federal and state law, State Board of Education rules, and school policy
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of research, theories, and practices associated with therapy in the school-based setting

Prolonged periods standing and walking throughout school and classroom.
Must be able to lift up to 45 pounds at a time.
Must be able to assist students who have physical difficulties.
Occasional bending, kneeling, sitting, standing, and climbing stairs.
Prolonged periods sitting and working on the computer to complete necessary paperwork.

Compensation:
Salary is based on the GPEA CBA, which MAY or MAY NOT recognize previous professional teaching experience. GPEA Members are also eligible for a comprehensive and competitive benefits package including health/dental/vision/life and long-term disability insurance.
