The Pioneer Valley Performing Arts Charter Public School is seeking highly qualified candidate for the position of Speech and Language Pathologist Assistant for the 2025-2026 school year. The Speech and Language Pathologist Assistant functions as a member of the total diagnostic team by providing comprehensive differential diagnosis, assessment, educational planning for students with speech/language/communication disorders. Speech & language services may be delivered in a variety of ways by the speech & language pathologist assistant alone or in collaboration with other service providers including direct services to address a wide range of needs i.e. receptive and expressive language, fluency, voice, articulation, aural rehabilitation, oral motor intervention, auditory processing, use of assistive technology, etc. Responsibilities include but are not limited to case management, treatment planning and implementation, writing IEPs, and conducting comprehensive assessments. Under the direction of the Director of Student Services and SLP Consultant, you will be responsible for:1.Under the direction and clinical supervision of a speech-language pathologist (SLP), the speech-language assistant provides speech-language services to students with individualized education programs. 2.Collaborates with the SLP supervisor on evidence-based interventions to help students achieve their speech-language goals and objectives on their IEPs. 3.Collaborates with the SLP supervisor regarding information on students IEPs. 4.Provides screening to identify students with suspected speech-language disabilities. 5.Keeps progress and tracking data using qualitative and quantitative information for individual students receiving speech-language services. 6.In collaboration with the SLP, maintains a list of students names on the speech-language caseload as well as those students who are screened and eligible for speech-language services. 7.Keeps track of and inventories speech-language intervention materials in the school. 8.Logs therapy services. 9.Provides progress reports in collaboration with the SLP. 10.Works collaboratively with the Director of Student Services and Special Education Teams for students on caseload11.Create assistive technologies and augmentative communication plans as needed, maintain inventory of assistive technology equipment and train staff on appropriate use of assistive technology

Qualifications: The successful candidate will minimally hold a BA degree, be able to pass a background check (CORI/SORI & Fingerprinting) at least two years working with students in grades 7-12 and be computer literate. Preferred qualifications include:1.Masters degree2.Speech & Language Pathologist Assistant license from the State of Massachusetts Board of Health3.Ma Department of Elementary and Secondary Education certification/license as a Speech Pathologist Assistant-all levelsOther Information/Instructions:Salary: Starting $21.16/hour.
