Description

  • Assess patients of different age groups including pediatric, adult, and geriatric using both standardized tests and observational techniques to gauge their needs.
  • Craft individualized treatment plans that target immediate goals while also addressing longer-term communication, cognitive, or swallowing requirements.
  • Deliver personalized speech therapy focused on various areas such as communication skills, language development, fluency, voice modulation, and swallowing functions.
  • Collaborate effectively with physical and occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, caregivers, and family members to ensure an integrated approach to patient care.
  • Conduct educational sessions for patients and families to reinforce progress outside clinical settings.
  • Contribute to inpatient speech therapy assessments and interventions as necessary to uphold consistent care throughout the treatment process.
  • Ensure precise and timely clinical documentation in compliance with state, federal, and organizational standards.
  • Engage in continuous education and peer-to-peer learning to stay abreast of current trends in the field.

Education

  • Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
  • Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if not yet certified by ASHA.

Certifications

  • Valid state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist .
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA preferred.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days of hire.
