A masters degree in athletic training or physical therapy or a related field, Certification (ATC) from the National Athletic Trainers Association Board of Certification (NATABOC) with eligibility for state licensure and a minimum of three years of experience as an ATC or a Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT). CSCS certification from the National Strength and Conditioning Association, or SCCC certification from the Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association required. Certifications must be attached to application. At least one year of experience implementing and executing a budget for large scale programs is desired.
Advanced knowledge in the following areas: Experience with college and /or professional athletics and /or military sport medicine. Proficiency in Pathology of chronic and acute injuries related to military service, high school, college, or professional sports. Experience evaluating and providing services related to orthopedic injury. Familiarity with Acute care of injuries and illness related to the military training environment. Awareness of Therapeutic modalities such as ultrasound, cryotherapy, thermotherapy, neuromuscular electrical stimulation, transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation, continuous passive motion, massage, dry needling, Graston, and other passive modalities. Skilled in computerized and state of the art equipment associated with conditioning, recovery, and reconditioning. Knowledge of psychosocial interventions and referrals methods. Awareness of injury reduction and risk management process. Expertise in Nutritional aspects of injury, illness, recovery, and supplementation. Awareness of Healthcare administration and policy. Expert within Professional experience writing, publishing, and developing Athletic Training curriculum delivered to staff and target populations. The ability to articulate an understanding of health literacy needs of the population related to physical recovery, injury prevention, and stress management and work as part of a comprehensive team to fulfill the mission and contribute to the development and implementation of policies and procedures that affect the readiness of the Marine Corps community. Skill to communicate with high-ranking officials and active-duty personnel.
