Full-time hours are Mon-Fri 7:30-3:00pm during the school year.Onsite only (no remote work), and the candidate must be a licensed OTR (We are unable to hire COTAs). Milestones Day School has provided state-of-the-art, evidence-based, and comprehensive educational and therapeutic programming for students with autism and mental health challenges for the past 30 years. We are seeking an experienced occupational therapist to join our OT department (5 OTs) to work collaboratively on our team for students and help improve the quality of their lives by teaching skill development. The OT provides therapeutic curricula and intervention for students, works to increase sensory processing and regulation, motor skills, and daily living skills.Specific responsibilities for this OT position include include:Provide individual and group-based occupational therapy services to elementary and middle school students as designated in their IEP (individual caseload of about 15 students)Develop curriculum for and co-lead (with SLP) 3 therapeutic groups per week targeting foundational skills required for successful school participation (visual perceptual skills, gross/fine motor skills, social/collaboration skills, daily living routines, sensory progressing and regulation)Provide diagnostic evaluations (about 4-7 per year) per students IEPWrite reports & effectively communicate OT-related information, testing results, and recommendations at meetings in a manner easily understood by the team (including family) and studentProvide services to the general milieu in the form of regulation support, assistive technology support, alternative seating, and help with daily living tasks throughout the dayPerform 3 weekly push-in groups, in which the OT joins an academic class to support the generalization of skills in the classroom settingProduce accurate, detailed documentation in a timely manner, including quarterly progress notes, IEP benchmarks and current performance levels, and 3-year reevaluationsWork collaboratively on a multi-disciplinary team, including psychologists, speech-language pathologists, BCBAs, transition specialists, teachers and classroom staffParticipate in weekly group supervision meetings and provide consultation throughout the week to Milestones staff Requirements:Masters or Doctorate of Occupational TherapyActive MA License (OT) and registered with NBCOT (OTR)Knowledge and experience with the administration, scoring, and interpretation of a variety of assessment instruments and tools (i.e. BOT, VMI, ABAS, Sensory Profile, Sensory Processing Measure, and others)Knowledge and experience with building therapeutic rapport and best therapeutic practices with students who have autism spectrum disorders, learning disabilities, and various mental health challenges (i.e, anxiety, OCD, DMDD, Tourettes, etc.)Excellent critical thinking, written, and verbal skillsBenefits:Health, dental, and vision insuranceApproximately 7 weeks of vacation in a full school year (approximately 6 weeks when school is not in session and 5 days of your choice) (Prorated to length of contract)Paid time off401k with discretionary company matchPet Insurance20% off on-campus tuition and 10% off online tuition at Regis College and a discount at Cambridge CollegePaid professional developmentVarious discounts at local retailers and various entertainment venues that Milestones partners withSalary Range: $70,000 - $80,000
