Resident Enrichment Respiratory Therapist – Make a Difference Beyond the Neighborhood

We are looking for a compassionate, skilled, and adaptable Resident Enrichment Respiratory Therapist to bring their expertise beyond the bedside. In this unique role, you’ll provide high-quality respiratory care to medically complex children and young adults during enriching activities—whether that’s a community outing, swimming session, or a large campus event. If you thrive in dynamic environments, love collaborating with a multidisciplinary team, and want to make every moment count for our residents, this role is for you.

Schedule

This is a full-time, 36-hour-per-week position with a flexible schedule. Must be available to work days, nights, weekends, and holidays as needed to support enrichment activities.

A Day in the Life

You’ll start your day preparing equipment, medications, and care plans to ensure residents can participate fully and safely in enrichment experiences. From monitoring ventilators poolside to administering treatments during off-campus adventures, you’ll be the bridge between medical needs and life’s joyful moments. Collaboration is constant—you’ll work closely with our Enrichment Team, physicians, and families to create experiences that are as safe as they are memorable.

How This Position Contributes to Our Mission

  • Provide respiratory assessments, treatments, and interventions during on- and off-campus enrichment activities.
  • Collaborate with the Enrichment Team, families, and the interdisciplinary team to ensure safe, resident-centered care.
  • Manage respiratory equipment and medications for outings, ensuring readiness and safety at all times.
  • Monitor and support residents during activities such as community events, swimming, and large gatherings.
  • Accurately document assessments, interventions, and resident responses in the medical record.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Current, unencumbered Commonwealth of Kentucky Registered Respiratory Therapist license.
  • Minimum 1 year of healthcare experience (pediatric experience preferred).
  • Current CPR/BLS certification (provided if not current).
  • Ability to work independently and adapt to changing situations in varied environments.
  • Excellent clinical judgment, organizational skills, and communication abilities.

What You’ll Receive as a Valued Member of Home of the Innocents

  • A trauma-informed environment
  • Comprehensive benefits package
  • Generous leave time
  • 401(k) with employer match
