Description
- Assess patients spanning the pediatric, adult, and geriatric age groups through standardized tests and observational evaluations.
- Craft individualized treatment plans targeting both immediate and enduring communication, cognitive, or swallowing goals.
- Deliver tailored speech therapy sessions aimed at enhancing communication, language, fluency, voice, and swallowing skills.
- Collaborate closely with physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, doctors, caregivers, and families to formulate integrated care approaches.
- Provide education for patients and their families to facilitate development outside of therapy settings.
- Participate in occasional inpatient speech evaluations and interventions, ensuring comprehensive care continuity.
- Adhere to meticulous documentation practices aligned with state, federal, and organizational standards.
- Continuously improve your expertise through ongoing education and collaboration with peers.
Education
- Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
- Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if not yet ASHA-certified.
Certifications
- State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist .
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA preferred.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days of employment.
