Job Responsibilities

  • Conduct assessments for patients spanning pediatric, adult, and geriatric demographics, utilizing both standardized tools and observational strategies.
  • Design individualized treatment plans targeting both immediate goals and the broader aspects of communication, cognition, or swallowing.
  • Implement personalized speech therapy sessions that foster progress in communication, language, fluency, voice, and swallowing.
  • Work alongside multidisciplinary teams including physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, caregivers, and family members to ensure integrated care approaches.
  • Provide education to patients and their families to enhance therapeutic outcomes outside of the clinical environment.
  • Assist with occasional inpatient evaluations and treatments, ensuring seamless patient care throughout their therapeutic journey.
  • Maintain all necessary documentation in compliance with state, federal, and organizational mandates.
  • Stay abreast of advancements in the field through continuous professional development and collaboration with colleagues.

Qualifications

  • Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited academic institution.
  • Completion of a Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if not already ASHA-certified.

Certifications Required

  • State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist .
  • Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days of hire.

  • Solid understanding and proficiency in evidence-based treatment methods addressing a wide range of speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills when engaging with patients, families, and care teams.
  • Flexibility in adapting therapeutic strategies to accommodate diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
  • Strong clinical decision-making and analytical skills.
  • Familiar with electronic medical records and documentation protocols.
