Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough evaluations of patients across all age groups using standardized assessment tools and clinical observations.
- Create customized treatment plans that focus on immediate objectives while addressing broader speech, cognitive, and swallowing needs.
- Deliver tailored speech therapy to promote improvements in communication, language, fluency, voice modulation, and swallowing ability.
- Work collaboratively alongside physical and occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, caregivers, and families to devise comprehensive care plans.
- Educate patients and their families about strategies to enhance progress outside clinical settings.
- Participate in sporadic inpatient speech therapy evaluations and interventions, ensuring seamless care during the treatment process.
- Maintain meticulous records adhering to all institutional, state, and federal regulations.
- Engage in ongoing education to stay abreast of advancements in the field and foster collaboration with colleagues.
Education
- Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
- Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) is required if you are not yet ASHA-certified.
Certifications
- Valid state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist .
- Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification to be obtained within 30 days of hire.
