Category Schools - OT Job Type Contract A K-12 Occupational Therapist is needed to provide comprehensive OT services for a leave contract from mid-November to mid-January in West Chester, PA. This role requires expertise in school-based occupational therapy to support student success and meet regulatory standards. Key Responsibilities: Conduct thorough occupational therapy evaluations and assessments to determine student eligibility under IDEA and Section 504. Develop, implement, and regularly monitor individualized OT goals and treatment plans as part of IEP or 504 plans. Provide direct therapy and consultative services across various school settings, including classrooms and therapy rooms. Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teamsteachers, special educators, psychologists, physical therapists, speech-language pathologists, and familiesto enhance student outcomes. Support students in improving fine motor skills, sensory processing, self-care, handwriting, visual-motor integration, and adaptive behaviors. Maintain accurate documentation and records in compliance with district, state, and federal regulations. Participate actively in IEP/504 meetings, offering professional input on accommodations, modifications, assistive technology, and classroom strategies. Provide training and consultative support to school staff on OT-related strategies. Ensure all practices align with Pennsylvania Department of Education guidelines and licensure requirements. Qualifications: Master's degree or higher in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program. Current Pennsylvania Occupational Therapist license issued by the PA State Board of Occupational Therapy Education and Licensure. NBCOT certification (National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy). Required Pennsylvania clearance and background checks, including PA Criminal Background Check, Child Abuse Clearance, and FBI Fingerprint Clearance. Experience or strong interest in working with children and youth in educational settings.
