Nexus-Woodbourne Family Healing is seeking a compassionate and skilled Occupational Therapist to support adolescents navigating the effects of trauma. This role focuses on fostering resilience and emotional regulation through therapeutic interventions tailored to each individual's unique needs. Schedule/Location/Pay:
Salary Range - $40 - $45 per hour
Part -Time - 16 Hours per Week
Onsite - (1301 Woodbourne Ave Baltimore MD) & Remote
- Work on Campus and attend Rounds with Medical Staff - Tuesday - Thursday - 11am - 12pm
- Work the remaining hours on Campus or Remote - per the Medical Director's approval
Position Summary: Facilitate development and rehabilitation of patients with mental, emotional, and physical disabilities by planning and administering occupational therapy.
Primary responsibilities:
- Meet the goals and needs of youth by providing quality care including assessing and interpreting evaluations and test results and determining occupational therapy treatment plans in consultation with a physician or by prescription.
- Complete a client centered assessment of youth to identify needs in primary roles and occupations such as play, schoolwork, and age-appropriate self-care in a timely manner.
- Meet youth's goals and needs and provide quality care by assessing and interpreting evaluations and test results, determining occupational therapy treatment plans in consultation with physician or by prescription.
- Exhibit a spirit of cooperation among coworkers when collaborating with the clinical team, program staff, education staff, and nurse to ensure all necessary information is gathered for a thorough assessment of youth.
- Ensure the implementation of treatment plans established. Complete on-going assessment of progress in youth, recommending and implementing adjustments and modifications as needed.
- Educate and support program staff and/or families on youth's care needs, including recommendations for services post-discharge from Nexus.
- Complete discharge planning by consulting with nurses, physicians, program clinical team members, and education staff; remain adaptable and flexible with the changing priorities of the agency and work to plan, organize and effectively manage multiple priorities.
- Complete and maintain required documentation.
- Complete assessments for referrals received.
- Establish care plan and communicate plan to clinical team.
- Document care/services provided according to Nexus standards.
- Complete discharge paperwork.
Attend team meetings and required trainings. Understand and support the Nexus philosophy and treatment modalities.
Ensure confidentiality regarding youth issues, background and treatment as well as comply with Nexus polices involving youth privacy and confidentiality rules for youth and their families.
Ensure youth safety and collaborate with coworkers to maintain an environment that is positive, respectful, clean, and therapeutic.
- Ensure compliance with all Nexus safety policies and procedures involving living areas, buildings, campus grounds and while attending off-campus activities.
- Demonstrate problem solving skills in all situations and the ability to handle emergency or crisis situations using sound judgement; take appropriate action consistent with Nexus policy and procedure and perform First Aid/CPR as needed according to protocols.
- Clearly, professionally and respectfully communicate with internal and external audiences; interface effectively with families and clients and maintain appropriate boundaries with youth and families at all times.
- Perform other work-related responsibilities, tasks and projects as needed/ assigned.

Requirements
Required Education and Licensure:
- Must meet the applicable State Board and Licensing requirements.
- Valid driver's license required. Must meet state regulating agency and Home Office driving requirements
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Experience in the Mental Health Industry preferred.
