Description

  • Conduct thorough evaluations for pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients using a mix of standardized assessments and observational methodologies.
  • Design tailored treatment plans focused on both immediate goals and overarching communication, cognitive, or swallowing requirements.
  • Deliver individualized speech therapy sessions concentrating on communication, language, fluency, voice, and swallowing.
  • Coordinate with physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, caregivers, and families to develop integrated care approaches.
  • Provide crucial education for patients and families to support progress outside the clinical environment.
  • Occasionally participate in inpatient speech therapy evaluations and interventions to ensure seamless care throughout the treatment journey.
  • Ensure compliance with accurate and timely documentation following state, federal, and organizational protocols.
  • Keep up-to-date with advancements in the field through continuous education and collaborative efforts with peers.

Education

  • A Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
  • Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if ASHA certification is pending.

Certifications

  • State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist .
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA is preferred.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required within 30 days after starting.
