The University of New Mexico Student Health & Counseling clinic (SHAC) is recruiting for a knowledgeable and experienced Physical Therapist to provide professional PT services to a diverse university student body in our General Medicine clinic. This position provides direct patient care and/or rehabilitative and developmental therapy to individuals with physical disabilities and/or functional limitations in clinic, inpatient, outpatient, and outreach programs. Plans therapy programs, directs and assists patients in exercises and use of wheelchairs and other devices, and evaluates patient progress. Educate patients and families in appropriate physical therapy methods. Leads the work of and serves as a resource for other therapists.
The Student Health & Counseling Center is located at the center of campus. The clinic provides comprehensive primary and mental health services and has a laboratory, x-ray, pharmacy, physical therapy , acupuncture, case management, and health promotions on site. Other medical services provided are same day appointments, travel medicine, immunizations, and sports medicine.

Bachelor's degree; at least 6 months of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.Certification/LicensureState of New Mexico License within area of clinical/therapeutic expertise; or licensure pending, as documented by temporary license.
Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.
Preferred Qualifications- Masters Degree in Physical Therapy
- At least 5 years of experience providing Physical Therapy services in an outpatient setting.
- At least 5 years of experience providing Manual Therapy skills.
- At least 5 years of experience using functional exercise programs for rehabilitation from orthopedic injuries/ post-surgery.
- Experience providing Physical Therapy services to a college age population.
- Experience in a supervisory role
