A rewarding opportunity is available for a certified Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to provide services to early childhood and elementary students in an onsite school setting. This contract role is designed for an experienced professional holding a PEL with an SLP endorsement, working within grade levels from Early Childhood through 2nd grade.

Location: Gurnee, IL
Setting: Elementary school
Duration: Contract (CSY) from September to October
Schedule: 35 hours per week (8:00 AM 3:30 PM)
Service Delivery: Onsite
Caseload: To be determined; students range from Early Childhood to 2nd grade

This position involves supporting speech-language services aligned with school district requirements and state guidelines. The role requires working with diverse caseloads and collaborating with educational teams to design and implement individualized communication plans.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) in Speech-Language Pathology
  • Experience in pediatric speech-language pathology, preferably within school settings
  • Professional Educator License (PEL) with SLP Endorsement specific to the state
  • Familiarity with teletherapy is a plus but primary service delivery is onsite
  • Capacity to manage a caseload primarily spanning Early Childhood to elementary grades

Responsibilities:

  • Assess, diagnose, and treat speech and language disorders in young children
  • Develop and implement effective intervention strategies tailored to individual student needs
  • Collaborate with educators, parents, and other professionals to support student communication goals
  • Maintain accurate documentation of evaluations, treatments, and progress reports
