Description

  • Deliver individualized speech therapy sessions focusing on communication, language skills, fluency, voice, and swallowing functions.
  • Collaborate closely with physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, caregivers, and families to integrate cohesive care strategies.
  • Engage in patient and family education to enhance progress beyond clinical interactions.
  • Assist with occasional inpatient speech therapy assessments and interventions, ensuring seamless continuity of care throughout a patients therapeutic journey.
  • Maintain precise and timely documentation that aligns with state, federal, and organizational standards.
  • Stay abreast of advancements in the field via continuing education and collaboration with peers.

Education

  • A Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology obtained from an accredited institution.
  • Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) unless ASHA-certified already.

Certifications

  • State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist .
  • Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) awarded by ASHA.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be completed within 30 days of start date.
