Category Therapy - Skilled - SLP Job Type Contract A Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) position is available for the 2025-2026 school year at an elementary school in Fredericksburg, VA. This part-time contract role offers up to 30 hours per week, Monday through Friday, working in-person with elementary students. The position reports to the Director of Special Education and focuses on providing individualized speech and language assessment and therapy, along with consultative support to staff within the special education cooperative. Key Responsibilities: Conduct screening, evaluation, and assessment of speech, language, articulation, and auditory development for students referred for special education services. Participate as a member of the multi-disciplinary team by interpreting assessment data and contributing to Individualized Education Program (IEP) planning. Provide consultative and advisory services to school personnel regarding diagnosis and remediation strategies. Maintain open and effective communication with staff, families, and healthcare agencies to monitor student progress. Support students with speech and language impairments to improve communication skills, facilitating academic and personal growth. Assist both regular and special education teachers in developing appropriate language programs for classroom and community settings. Minimum Qualifications: Active Virginia SLP License. Demonstrated commitment to supporting students with special education needs and their families. Experience and training in assessment, evaluation, and consultation procedures. Knowledge of all phases of the special education process, including disability categories. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build professional relationships and communicate effectively. Preferred prior school-based experience.
