Description

- Create individualized treatment strategies that align with both immediate and long-term communication and swallowing objectives.
- Deliver focused one-on-one speech therapy sessions targeting language, speech, fluency, voice, and swallowing skills.
- Collaborate seamlessly with a dedicated team of healthcare professionals including physical and occupational therapists, nurses, and families to form integrated care plans.
- Educate patients and their families to encourage continued progress outside of treatment sessions.
- Participate in periodic inpatient evaluations and therapy sessions to ensure a continuous care experience throughout recovery.
- Maintaining detailed and timely medical documentation that complies with established guidelines.
- Engage in ongoing professional development to keep pace with advancements in the field through education and teamwork.
Education
- Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
- Completion of a Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if ASHA certification is still pending.
Certifications
- License to practice as a Speech Language Pathologist in California.
- Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification needed within 30 days of hire.
