Job Responsibilities

  • Conduct evaluations for all age groupspediatric, adult, and geriatricusing both standardized tests and detailed clinical observations.
  • Create individualized treatment plans tailored to the specific communication, cognitive, or swallowing needs of each patient.
  • Deliver tailored one-on-one speech therapy sessions focusing on language skills, fluency, voice modulation, and swallowing techniques.
  • Collaborate effectively with a team of physical therapists, occupational therapists, nursing staff, physicians, and family members to develop integrated care approaches.
  • Provide education and resources to patients and their families to reinforce progress between sessions.
  • Assist with inpatient evaluations and therapy when necessary, ensuring seamless care throughout the recovery path.
  • Keep meticulous and timely documentation that complies with all state, federal, and organization regulations.
  • Engage in ongoing learning and professional development to stay abreast of the latest advancements in speech-language pathology.

Education Required

  • A Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology from a regionally accredited institution.
  • Completion of a Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) is necessary if not already ASHA-certified.

Certifications Required

  • Active state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist .
  • Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be completed within 30 days of hire.
