Summary: Grand Valley State University (GVSU) in Grand Rapids, Michigan is currently accepting applications for a full-time twelve-month tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor in the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders to support graduate SLP and undergraduate CSD programs. Our programs give emphasis to interprofessional education, diversity/equity/inclusion/justice, and student-centered learning. This is an exciting opportunity for innovative and motivated individuals who appreciate an integrated academic and clinical program and have a desire to educate tomorrow's professionals.
Required Qualifications and Education:
Doctoral degree in speech-language pathology or related discipline (Ph.D.; ABD will be considered). Area of expertise is flexible, however, preference will be given to faculty with expertise in adult neurogenic communication disorders, motor speech, and clinical education for the adult population
Evidence of effective teaching and willingness to integrate academics with clinical education
ASHA certification in speech-language pathology with experience in direct clinical practice
Demonstrated record and/or potential for active scholarship
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Responsibilities - Essential Functions:
Teaching in the speech-language pathology graduate and undergraduate academic programs
Participate in scholarly activity, advise/mentor students, and provide service to the department, college, university, community, and the profession.
Salary: Minimum starting salary of $90,000; commensurate with experience
