Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education certificate endorsement as a speech-language pathologist. Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) is required. Experience in a school setting preferred with children on the Autism Spectrum and School-Based Therapy.
Job Requirements
Treat a diverse caseload of students, including those diagnosed with language disorders, hearing impairment, speech delays, autism, and TBI. Provide speech and language screenings and comprehensive evaluations for students in Preschool through Grade 6.Determine eligibility from EI placement to school-based servicesDevelopment of Individualized Education Programs, and active participation in team meetings Knowledge and use of Augmentative and Alternative Communication supports (e.g., PECS, communication boards, core vocabulary, TouchChat, Proloquo2Go) Consult with staff and parents when appropriateCommunicate information, provide support/strategies to parents and families to facilitate the generalization of skillsProvide written documentation outlining progress for each student on the caseload Knowledge and implementation of vocabulary from the social thinking curriculum
