Speech Language PathologistDepartment: DeMay Rehab Location: DeMay Living CenterHours Per Week: 40 hoursSchedule: Monday - Friday DaysSign-on Bonus: up to $20,000SUMMARYProvides evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of patients with problems in cognition, communication, and/or deglutition using accepted techniques and equipment within the guidelines of the organization's policies and procedures and professional standards of practice. Assesses and restores patient's function, alleviates pain, and prevents disabilities by designing, planning and implementing medically prescribed speech-language pathology interventions. Provide superior customer service by modeling the Brand Promise and Core Values.DeMay Living Center is a 180-bed building, surrounded by uplifting views of hills, fields, and farmlands, is warm and aesthetically pleasing. The grounds offer serene spaces to sit or stroll. Plus, because it's connected directly to the Newark-Wayne Community Hospital, residents benefit from quick access to acute care if needed.RESPONSIBILITIESMeets the patient's goals and needs and provides quality, evidence based care by assessing, developing and implementing an individualized treatment plan.Helps patient accomplish treatment plan and accept therapeutic devices and recommendations by instructing, encouraging, and assisting patients in performing functional and daily-living activities and in using assistive and supportive devices.Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.Develops speech-language therapy staff by providing information; developing and conducting in-service training programs.Complies with federal, state, and local legal and professional requirements by studying existing and new legislation; anticipating future legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising management on needed actions.Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.REQUIRED QUALIFICTIONS:Masters degree in Speech/Language Pathology (may be MA, MS, Med)New York State licensureORFor recent graduates:Completion of at least 9 months supervised Clinical Fellowship year OR Eligible to participate in supervised Clinical Fellowship year by a NYS licensed Speech Language Pathologist with a NYS Limited permit and followed by the NYS licensure examination and achievement of NYS license.PREFERRED QUALIFICTIONS1 year experience in medical setting preferred.EDUCATION: MS: Speech Pathology (Required)PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: M - Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects; Requires frequent walking, standing or squatting.PAY RANGE: $68,500.00 - $97,760.00 The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for successful applicants. It may be modified in the future. Pay is determined by factors including experience, relevant qualifications, specialty, internal equity, location, and contracts.
