Position Summary:
The Occupational Therapist assumes responsibility and accountability for the planning, provision and coordination of all aspects of direct patient care for a designated group of patients/clients in accordance with established facility and departmental policies and procedures, maintaining the highest degree of quality care. The therapist works cooperatively with other patient team personnel maintaining standards of professional occupational therapy practice and interdisciplinary teamwork.
The staff therapist, using independent judgment, also assumes responsibility and accountability for the delivery of occupational therapy services provided by certified occupational therapist assistants and may be assigned to orient staff and students and to assume the duties and responsibilities of the team leader in the absence of that individual.
What the Occupational Therapist will need:
- Must be a graduate of a professional training program approved by the American Occupational Therapy Association.
- Bachelor's degree (B.S.) from a four-year college or university.
- NBCOT certification and current Occupational Therapist state of Michigan registration.
