Delivers critical and non critical patient care services to all age groups using selected invasive and non invasive techniques related to the cardiopulmonary system. Provides respiratory care in in-patient and out patient areas. Demonstrates a high level of commitment and professionalism. Must practice within scope of practice in accordance with the licensure act.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

EDUCATION: Graduate of a 2-4 year Respiratory Therapy program. Or greater than 10 years experience with CRT credential.
YEARS OF EXPERIENCE: Prefer 6 months experience
REQUIRED SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE: CRT by the National Board of Respiratory Care. Prefer active membership in American Association of Respiratory Care (AARC). Must demonstrate knowledge as it relates to cardiopulmonary disease states. Involved in precepting all floors and some critical care areas.
LICENSES & CERTIFICATIONS:
Candidate must have a current license to practice respiratory care issued by the state. Current BLS with ACLS and NRP for respective work areas preferred.
Performs and monitors patient progress and response to service. Assesses patients and makes appropriate recommendations based on outcomes with regard to therapeutic interventions.
Performs invasive and noninvasive diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
In accordance with hospital policy and procedure, performs all duties as a respiratory care practitioner as assigned.
Correctly records all information in the patient legal record and maintains department records.
Educates patients on their diseases state, wellness, home care modalities and safety. Treatments performed as related to age specific needs.
Educates/Precepts students to the roles/responsibilities of a RCP
Applies technical knowledge to consult physicians with regard to cardiopulmonary status.
Participates in in-services and meetings, completes competencies. Monitors all department communications.
