JOB SUMMARY :
Assist the licensed therapist in their duties and perfor m tasks related to the physical aspects and operation of the area as demonstrated by competency assessment/validation. The technician is directly supervised when performing treatment related tasks by a licensed therapist assuming responsibility for patien t care. Demonstrates a commitment to professional accountability and growth to maintain and expand knowledge and skills. Contributes to the achievement of the mission and philosophy of the Organization. Contributes to the effective operations of the Org anization by demonstrating dependability in job performance. Exhibits the values of F.I.R.S.T. WORKING CONDITIONS, HAZARDS AND PHYSICAL EFFORT:
Works inside a typical therapy setting on patient floors, outpatient clinic, or off ground /unit activities as indicated. May be required to work a flexible schedule. The task of this job involves occasional exposure to blood, body fluids, or tissue. Exposure to stress of
dealing with patients experiencing pain/discomfort or suffering from ph ysical/mental disabilities. Considerable stooping, kneeling, pulling, lifting, carrying, and walking are involved. Must be able to lift 25 lbs. independently.
CONTACTS WITH OTHERS:
Has contact with patients and patients' family members, therapists, othe r Associates, and physicians.
EQUIPMENT USED/SPECIAL SKILLS REQUIRED:
Paraffin, hot packs, cold packs, BTE work simulator, computer, wheelchair, hospital beds. Transfer training, CPR (trained and certified at hospital as part of job).
MINIMUM QUAL IFICATIONS OR EQUIVALENTS:
Education: High school education.
