Speech and Language Pathologist - East Greenwich School District

The East Greenwich School Department is seeking a Speech and Language Pathologist.Under the general supervision of the Director of Student Services, the person in this position will promote the success of all students by advocating, nurturing, and sustaining a school culture and instructional program conducive to student learning and staff professional growth. The Pathologist ensures management of the organization, operations, and resources for a safe, efficient, and effective learning environment.Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesDemonstrates ability to collaborate with other disciplines to ensure team understanding of student speech and language strengths and needs, through evaluation, educational program planning, and service delivery.Capability to evaluate the student's ability and formulate the student's speech/language profile through functional and standardized assessments, skilled observations, checklists, histories, and interviews; and a variety of functional, behavioral, and standardized assessments.Capacity to synthesize evaluation results into a comprehensive written report which reflects strengths and barriers to student participation in the educational environment; direct program development; and guide evidence-based interventionAbility to develop speech and language intervention plans based on student needs and evaluation results Capability to participate in multidisciplinary meetings to review evaluation results, integrate findings with other disciplines, offer recommendations, and develop individual education plans and intervention plans to achieve IEP goals.Proven ability to provide targeted, evidence-based therapeutic intervention to facilitate student participation and speech and language performance within the school environment.Ability to provide professional development for educators, service providers, and families.Prepare a master schedule and a program of studies.Strong interpersonal skills and proven ability to work as a member of a team.Deep commitment to develop and contribute to a community of educators.Flexibility, commitment, and enthusiasm.Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the building principal.Education and ExperienceRequired to have a valid SLP license and be in good standing with the state of RI in order to be considered for this position. 2+ years of pediatric experience Masters degree preferred Display strong interpersonal skillsAble to implement a coaching model when working with familiesAble to work in a trans-disciplinary teamDemonstrated time management and multi-tasking skills General computer proficiencyCitizenship, residency or work VISA in United States requiredTools & Equipment UsedThe individual should be familiar with the operation of standard office equipment including, but not limit to, personal computers, and spreadsheet and word processing software.Physical DemandsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
