Primary Scheduled Hours: Part Time 48 hours Per Pay Period. Fully benefitted position. Job Summary: A Speech-Language Pathologist evaluates and treats patients per physician order utilizing a variety of therapeutic techniques. He/She communicates with families, providers and other health team members regarding patients. He/She maintains timely documentation in the medical record, enters accurate charges for services rendered, and participates in Rehab team meetings and other meetings as needed. He/She maintains current clinical knowledge through continuing education. Essential Job Functions: Determines each patient's need for skilled therapy based on objective and documented criteria Evaluates patients on acute within one working day of physician's order Conducts the evaluation according to the standardized or recommended techniques and procedures including timely documentation Develops a treatment plan at the end of the evaluation which includes measurable and objective long and short-term goals for each patient based on the evaluation data Follows each treatment plan in an objective, measurable and documented approach Performs Swallow studies in a timely manner and notifies provider of results Education Background and Experience: Minimum Education: M.A or M.S. degree in Communicative Disorder/Speech-Language Pathology Required Licensure / Certifications: Washington State Dept of Health license, current Certificate of Clinical Competence, CPR certification Required Experience: At least one year of clinical experience, including the hospital setting Preferred Qualifications: Prefer pediatric/school-based experience and geriatric experience Professional Requirements: Maintain regulatory requirements Report to work on time and as scheduled; complete work within designated timelines. Demonstrates the ability to adhere to the mission, ethics and goals of the District. Compensation/How We Care For You: Successful candidates typically begin between the beginning and midpoint of the compensation range dependent on qualifications/experience and receive compensation in increments increases annually.
