Job Summary

The Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) supports the implementation of speech, language, and communication services under the supervision of a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist. The SLPA provides direct and indirect support to students or clients with speech and language needs, assists in therapy activities, documents progress, and helps manage materials and scheduling. This position will include in person work at least one day per week from our office in Gold River CA 95670 in combination with remote work during the remainder of the week. However, depending upon the needs of the department this schedule is subject to change. Duties include but are not limited to: Implement therapy activities and services as prescribed by the supervising SLP, including articulation, language, fluency, voice, and augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) support. Conduct individual and small group therapy sessions, collecting data on student progress. Prepare and organize therapy materials, visual supports, and assistive technology. Document student performance, maintain accurate records, and report observations to the supervising SLP. Assist with screenings and informal assessments under supervision. Support communication and collaboration with teachers, families, and other service providers as directed. Help maintain a safe and positive therapy environment. Follow all applicable laws, regulations, and ethical guidelines for SLPA practice. Knowledge, skills and abilities: Understanding of speech and language development and disorders Ability to follow SLP treatment plans and adapt to student needs Strong interpersonal and communication skills Dependable, organized, and detail-oriented Able to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately Comfortable with technology and digital documentation systems Qualifications: Must possess valid registration as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant with the California Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology Board. Associate degree from a speech-language pathology assistant program and one year experience as a speech assistant is preferred.
