Job Summary:
United Health Services is seeking a dedicated Physical Therapy / Occupational Therapy Aide to join our dynamic Rehabilitation Services team. This part-time, benefits-eligible position offers 32 hours per week on the day shift and includes rotating weekend coverage.
This role will primarily be based at Binghamton General Hospital, providing support to multiple departments including the Neurology Unit, Inpatient Rehab, Therapy Services, Post-Op Orthopedics, Behavioral Health, and the Outpatient Clinic. The aide will also float to Wilson Medical Center in Johnson City as needed.

Key Responsibilities:
Assist physical and occupational therapists with treatment setup and patient support
Prepare, clean, and maintain therapy areas and equipment
Escort and assist patients during therapy sessions
Observe and report on patient responses and progress
Perform basic administrative duties such as documentation and supply stocking
Float to various therapy units and locations as needed
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required
Prior experience in a healthcare or therapy setting preferred
Interest in healthcare careers and patient care strongly encouraged
Excellent teamwork and communication skills
Reliable, punctual, and detail-oriented
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds
Prolonged standing, walking, bending, and reaching required
Ability to assist with patient transfers and mobility

  • Has a working knowledge of medical terminology, previous experience in patient care and clerical skills

  • CPR certification within first 3 months of employment.
