More about our team: Kindred Hospital St Louis South is a state-of-the-art, 50-bed inpatient acute rehabilitation hospital dedicated to the treatment and recovery of individuals who have experienced a loss of function due to an injury or illness. We offer intensive, patient-focused, specialized rehabilitation services. Our Unit is a very fast-paced yet fun environment with endless opportunities to learn and grow!
What we're looking for: We are looking for a dynamic Physical Therapist Assistant who is passionate about helping others and is a team player!
What will you do in this role:
Under the supervision of a Physical Therapist, provides physical therapy services to patients needing to develop, recover and maintain physical mobility/function.
Reports to: Director of Physical Therapy/Supervising Physical Therapist
Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
Essential Functions Implements treatment plan developed by supervising therapist using appropriate modalities. Seeks consultation as necessary.
Monitors patient's responses to the treatment plan.
Regularly communicates patient progress and possible goal revisions to the physical therapist.
Documents services provided and patient response/progress.
Educates the patient and family/caregiver about patient deficits.
Assists with patient discharge planning.
Provides information regarding appropriate selection/use of adaptive equipment and community support programs.
Qualifications:
Education: Associate's degree Required; Graduate of a Program in Discipline
Required Licenses: Physical Therapy Assistant in the state of you are working
