Their vision was to build healthier communities through a healing ministry. Over the years weve progressed to meet the needs of the community. We are always here for you to keep your medical needs close to home and convenient. We are always just down the road and have offered services for decades.
ResponsibilitiesAs an Occupational Therapist at CHI Mercy Health Valley City, now part of CommonSpirit Health formed between Catholic Health Initiatives (CHI) and Dignity Health, youll help our patients regain their independence and quality of life so they can safely go about their daily activities. The Occupational Therapist serves in a multidisciplinary capacity providing services to a wide variety of populations which may include pediatric, medical/surgical, orthopedics, outpatient.
Youll work alongside physicians, physical therapists, speech therapists, and other health professionals to assess patients, develop a plan of care, and carry out their treatment plan. Youll see a variety of patients daily with issues in several areas, including orthopedic, neurological, sensory, and cancer recovery, to name a few. Youll evaluate and re-evaluate patients and provide physicians with updates on improvements to the patients daily life. Youre truly the bridge between physical therapy and speech therapy.
To thrive in this role, you must be flexible and adaptable. Youll care for all patient populations presenting with a variety of conditions. You need to be extremely organized and efficient. Youll see many patients each workday and will be required to document all evaluations, treatments, and status changes. Most importantly, you must be positive, personable, and motivating.
