Job Summary:The Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) works under the direction and supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist to provide rehabilitative services to residents in a skilled nursing facility. The COTA helps residents improve their ability to perform daily activities, supporting overall independence and quality of life, in compliance with Colorado state regulations and facility policies.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Carry out treatment plans developed by the Occupational Therapist.
Instruct and assist residents with therapeutic activities and exercises.
Monitor resident progress and report changes to the supervising OT.
Document services provided in accordance with facility, state, and federal guidelines.
Educate residents and caregivers on adaptive techniques and equipment as directed by the OT.
Participate in care plan meetings and interdisciplinary team discussions when requested.
Help maintain equipment and therapy areas in clean, safe, and operational condition.
Adhere to ethical standards, confidentiality policies, and the Colorado State Practice Act.
Associates Degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program.
Current Colorado COTA license in good standing.
Certification by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT).
CPR certification (or willingness to obtain).
Experience in skilled nursing or geriatric rehabilitation preferred.
Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and assist with resident mobility.
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and support resident transfers as needed.
Physically able to meet the demands of active therapy sessions.
Competitive hourly wage $27/hr - $38/hr DOE
