Role Overview:
As a school-based OT, you'll support students fine motor development, sensory regulation, visual-motor integration, and adaptive skills. You'll work closely with educators and specialists to ensure therapy is aligned with educational goals and student IEPs.
Primary Responsibilities:
Conduct occupational therapy evaluations and contribute to IEP development
Deliver direct and consultative OT services across general and special education settings
Support students in building classroom-based functional skills (writing, self-care, organization)
Collaborate with school staff and families to embed strategies into daily routines
Document services and student progress in compliance with district guidelines
Participate in IEP meetings and multidisciplinary planning sessions
Qualifications:
Masters degree in Occupational Therapy
Current Michigan OT License
Michigan Teaching Certificate or School Approval for OT services in public schools
Previous school or pediatric experience strongly preferred
Strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills
Job Logistics:
Type: Full-time, onsite
Schedule: MondayFriday during school hours
Caseload: K12 (specific assignment varies)
