Easterseals is seeking an energetic, and results driven Full-Time Occupational Therapist to join a collaborative program between Easterseals and Southwestern Behavioral Healthcare in Evansville, IN. This unique opportunity is part of the Neurodevelopmental Clinic, an outpatient setting serving children with and without neurodevelopmental and mental health diagnoses. IN THIS ROLE, YOU WILL:
- Excel in providing occupational therapy services to clients and their families in a multi-disciplinary, team-oriented outpatient setting. Clients range in disability type and age from 0-17 years.
- Provide occupational therapy assessments to clients identified for the Neurodevelopmental Clinic.
- Provide ongoing occupational therapy to clients of NDC at Easterseals Rehabilitation Center.
- Communicate professionally, make referrals and coordinate services with community agencies when needed.
- Maintain appropriate records of services to reflect client assessment and needs; develop recommendations to provide to families during feedback.
- Maintain client documents, collect data and submit reports according to established time frames.
- Attend and participate in weekly team meetings with families and multidisciplinary team of providers. Advocate for families and children with complex needs.
- Participate in ongoing staff training and development activities as assigned to enhance job performance.
- Have knowledge of managing dysregulated behaviors associated with mental health diagnoses and developmental disabilities.
REQUIREMENTS FOR THIS POSITION:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in occupational therapy from NBCOT accredited program with NBCOT certification
- Licensure: Indiana
- Strengths: Ability to lift 20 lbs. frequently, 60 lbs. occasionally. Pass a physical, TB test, drug screen, and background checks. Ability to assist clients in activities including kneeling, crouching, reaching, and bending.
- Must have reliable transportation, maintain a valid driver’s license, and have valid car insurance.
- Must have or be willing to become certified in CPR/First Aid and Bridge Building Communication Techniques.
