Serving Maine’s Midcoast communities of Bowdoin, Bowdoinham, Harpswell, and Topsham, MSAD 75 is home to over 2,350 students and more than 600 faculty and staff members.
MSAD 75 is seeking a passionate and dedicated Speech and Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our PreK-5th grade team. This position is currently serving students at Bowdoinham Community School 4 days per week and Williams Cone School 1 day per week and is focused on providing comprehensive speech and language services to elementary-aged students with moderate to severe communication needs.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of speech, language, and total communication needs for elementary-aged students, including standardized assessments, observations, and informal measures.
- Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) with measurable goals and objectives based on assessment results and student needs.
- Provide direct therapy services to students with a range of communication disorders, including articulation, phonology, language (receptive and expressive), fluency, voice, and social communication.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date student records, including evaluation reports, IEPs, progress notes, and data collection.
- Participate in IEP meetings, parent conferences, and other school-based meetings as required.
- Stay current with best practices and research in the field of speech-language pathology.
- Adhere to all ethical and professional standards of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) and state licensure requirements.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Special Education or Principal.
Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Sciences and Disorders from an ASHA-accredited program.
- Current Maine State Licensure in Speech-Language Pathology.
- Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) from ASHA preferred.
- State of Maine Department of Education background check (CHRC) authorization.
